British Social Realism

STEEL - a short film (4mins 46 seconds)

STEEL - why?

I created this short film using single camera techniques and using the themes and style of British Social Realism.  I wrote, directed and edited the piece. Other students worked on the shoot with me and shared the cinematography, sound and other key roles during the shoot.   I was responsible for pre-production roles such as script development, casting, sorting out equipment for the shoot and gaining permission from locations and performers.  The edit and final piece were aimed at a brief we had been given of creating a 5 minute BSR film   I enjoy editing. I've attached some elements that show my process making it and also explain some of my thinking.
